This is a slab from the 62 ounce Mexican rock I started cutting in May of this year.
Weight - 3.9 grams
Thickness - 2.1 mm
Profile - Slightly curved from cutting
I have taken some of these slabs and permanently altered the color of the off white quartz to black. I use a method that opal miners using to create "black opal" - its a 3 day process of boiling sugar water to open the pores in the quartz and then treat with boiling sulphuric acid for 12 hours to turn the sugar into carbon! A wild process that makes the GOLD POP!
Jewelers generally charge $50 per carat! (250 a gram) and I am slightly less than half of that since there is NO MIDDLEMAN and I am the source you get WHOLESALE pricing!
